Foreign citizens may own most types of real estate in Russia — with exceptions such as agricultural land and land in border territories. The practical difficulties lie elsewhere: verifying the property, structuring payment lawfully under currency and counter-sanctions rules, and closing remotely. We support foreign buyers, sellers and heirs across all of it.

What we do

  • Due diligence: title history, encumbrances, litigation and bankruptcy risks of the seller, building status;
  • Deal structuring and payment: compliance with currency control and, for residents of designated states, counter-sanctions requirements — including where Government Commission approval or a special account is involved;
  • Remote transactions under a power of attorney: our lawyers sign, file and register with Rosreestr on your behalf;
  • Sale of Russian property by non-residents, including tax treatment of the proceeds and lawful repatriation;
  • Lease management for owners abroad.

FAQ

Do I need to come to Russia to buy or sell?
Usually no. A properly executed power of attorney covers viewing-independent steps: signing, notarization and registration. We report each stage with documents.

Are there restrictions because of my citizenship?
Ownership itself is mostly unrestricted, but deal-approval and payment rules can apply depending on your residency. We check the current requirements for your specific case before any money moves.
